from a distance

lesson tomorrow - around 12ish at Sophie's place :)
I got 2 slots of practise in today - an hour or so, then a gap for re-caffination & nice soak in the bath, then another 30-40mins later on.

I think I make a better sound when I improvise than when I play dots - the "Mexican Madness" duetty-thing from "Learn as you play Saxophone" unit 4 is really rather easy to busk around with - which is fun!
I know you'll be deeply pleased to learn that my interpretational problems with "Swim Swan, Swim" in unit 3 were resolved - although the swan definately needs some sort of flotational aid 'coz it's a bit weird.
Did lots of work on the little exercises too. Liz said it was sounding quite nice from a distance - I reckon it sounds better & better the further away you get - the optimal distance is just out of earshot I think.

I'm looking forward to my lesson - have had a txt conversation with Sophie today, & am going to take over wine & pizza for a swift lunchling post-lesson. Think I'll ask Sophie about the Tenor idea ventured in these pages yesterday, see what she thinks. Sent emails to a couple of places asking about rental etc - more on the crazy dream later!
